Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps leanring stays young. The greatest thing in your life is keep your mind young.

- Henry Ford

Lets take a look at tables or multiplication with single digit. Try to remember tables upto 10 helps you for quick calculation.

Table 2 : doubling or making half of a number is easy for anyone. Thats why learners prefer doubling a number while multiplying with 2
Table 4: Double number two times
Table 8: Double number 3 times
Table 3, 6, 7 : you have to remember these tables to do multiplication with these number

Only two tables have tricks to do multiplication in 1 to 10. Those are 5 and 9.

Table 5 or multiplication with 5 :

Ex 1 :  6 x 5 = ?

Ex 2 : 12 x 5 = ?

Ex 3: 21 x 5 = ?

Trick : 1. make half of the number
            2. multiply the result with 10

Lets take first example i.e 6 x 5 = ?

1. Make half of the number i.e half of the 6 = 3
2. multiply the result with 10 i.e. 3 x 10 = 30

Try Ex 2.

Ex 3 : 21 x 5 = ?
1. Make half of the number i.e half of 21 is 10.5
2. multiply the result with 10 i.e. 10.5 x 10 = 105.0 = 105

Table 9 or multiplication with 9 :

Ex 1 : 7 x 9 = ?
Ex 2 : 16 x 9 = ?
Ex 3 : 19 x 9 = ?

Trick :
1. 10 - one's digit ( subtract one's digit from 10 )
2. Number -  1 - ten's digit in number

Lets take first example i.e 7 x 9 = ?

1. one's digit ie 7. So 10 - 7 = 3
2. Number is 7. So 7 - 1 - 0 = 6 ( There is no ten's digit in 7. So it is 0 )

Therefore 7 x 9 = 63

Try Ex 2.

Ex 3 : 19 x 9 = ?

1. one's digit is 9. So 10 - 9 = 1
2. Number is 19. So 19 - 1 - 1 = 17

Therefor 19 x 9 = 171

Let try one more example. 97 x 9 = ?
1. one's digit is 7. So 10 -7 = 3
2. Number is 97. So 97 -1 - 9 = 87

Therefore 97 x 9 = 873

Happy learning...
